Delete your account
Last updated 12 August 2026
This page explains how to ask Kamaiyo Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“Kamaiyo”) to delete your account and the personal data held against it, what we erase, and what we are required to keep. It applies to the Kamaiyo Android app and to kamaiyo.com — they are one account.
You can ask for deletion at any time, for any reason, and you do not have to give one.
How to request deletion
Email us from the address or phone number registered on your account:
- Write to hello@kamaiyo.com with the subject Delete my account.
- Include the email address or mobile number you sign in with, so we can identify the account.
- Send it from the registered email where possible. If you sign in with a mobile number, say so and we will verify you on that number before acting — we will not delete an account on an unverified request.
We acknowledge within 3 working days and complete verified requests within 30 days. If anything delays it, we will tell you why and when.
What is deleted
- Your profile — name, email address, mobile number, bio, avatar and social handles
- Your payout details, including the UPI ID on file
- Your sign-in credentials and every active session and device token
- Your referral code and your link to the creator who referred you
- Your Smart Links, which stop redirecting and stop earning
- Notification and communication preferences
Deletion is permanent. We cannot recover the account, its links or its history afterwards, and a new account does not inherit anything from it.
What is kept, and for how long
A small amount of information has to outlive the account, because the law requires it of any business that has paid you money. Where we keep a record, we keep the minimum and detach it from your profile.
- Payout and commission records — retained for 8 financial years, as books of account under the Companies Act, 2013 and records under the Income-tax Act, 1961. These show that a payment was made and the tax treated correctly.
- Invoices and tax filings (including TDS) — retained for the same statutory period.
- Conversion and click records used to calculate what you were paid— retained in de-identified form, no longer linked to you, so that a store’s later reversal of a sale can still be reconciled.
- Fraud and abuse signals — where an account was closed for policy abuse, we keep the minimum needed to stop the same abuse recurring.
- Records under legal hold — anything subject to an ongoing dispute, investigation or lawful order is retained until that ends.
Once a retention period ends, the record is deleted or anonymised in the next scheduled purge.
Deleting data without closing the account
You do not have to close your account to remove specific data. Editing your profile removes a field, and removing your UPI ID removes your payout details while leaving the account open. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may also ask us to correct or erase particular personal data — write to hello@kamaiyo.com and tell us what you want changed.
If you are not satisfied
If we refuse a deletion request, we will tell you why. You can escalate to The Grievance Officer using the details on our Contact & Grievances page, and you retain your right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
